Green policy
"Meeting the needs of the present without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their own needs"
The PEWL Group recognises that our work may have a direct or indirect effect on the local, regional and global environment. We are committed to reducing any harmful effects on the environment and promoting the understanding of sustainability in its broadest context.
As a group we use suppliers who are active in reducing energy consumption and have active long term green policies. Although these products can sometimes cost a little more; i.e. high-efficiency power supplies (which can save as much as 25% in power consumption alone) they have a relatively short pay back cost, justifying the increased spend. The PEWL Group use only products that are RoHS compliant and meet LEED standards.
The use of fully automated control systems can further enhance green buildings. Control systems allow the monitoring of electricity, water, solar and geothermal energy, showing the running totals and energy/water flows for a house or a commercial building via displays or PCs. By being able to view the usage of energy in real time it can force users to change their everyday behaviour and can serve as a catalyst for positive change. PEWL Group uses the latest in energy monitoring technology and can provide co-location systems to facility managers in order that they can maximize their energy savings.
Although this is a small contribution, when all of the technologies installed by the PEWL Group are analyzed in the same manner there will be a cumulative effect throughout the whole project.
Our designers are very conscious of the current trend in green thinking and make all efforts possible to advise our clients. We also highlight to clients current manufactures policies and can supply supportive documentation when asked.
